ZDF founding director Karl Holzamer, the broadcaster reported in a detailed press release on Tuesday, denied his membership in the NSDAP and concealed the fact that he was also a member of the SA. Holzamer, who received his doctorate in 1929 with a thesis on the “concept of meaning”, who was a member of the Catholic Center before the war and of the CDU after the war, headed the institution from 1962 to 1977.
