The actor Dieter Schaad (“Crime scene”, “Lindenstraße”) is dead. He died “suddenly and unexpectedly” last Saturday at the age of 96 in his hometown of Wiesbaden, as his agency 60plus confirmed. She relies on information provided by the widow, Dagmar Hessenland-Schaad.
“We mourn the loss of a great actor and a warm-hearted person who was interested and committed into old age,” said 60plus Managing Director Ulrike Boldt of the German Press Agency. “14 days ago I visited Dieter and his wife in Wiesbaden and was fascinated by his esprit, his curiosity and his humor.”
According to the information, Schaad attended drama school in his hometown of Wiesbaden from 1945 to 1947. In addition to engagements in Worms, Bielefeld, Krefeld, Cologne, Darmstadt and Wiesbaden, among others, he was in front of the camera in more than 120 film and television productions. Most recently, in December 2022, he shot the Cologne WDR crime scene “Des other Last”, directed by Nina Wolfrum, which is still being broadcast.
