The Actor Dieter Schaad (crime scene, Lindenstrasse) is dead. He died “suddenly and unexpectedly” last Saturday at the age of 96 in his hometown of Wiesbaden, as his agency confirmed. She relies on information from Schaad’s widow.
After attending drama school in Wiesbaden from 1945 to 1947, Schaad had engagements in Worms, Bielefeld, Krefeld, Cologne, Darmstadt and Wiesbaden, among others. As a character actor, he is best known for his participation in more than 120 film and television productions. He appeared in numerous series, among others crime sceneA case for two and Forest house Falkenau. He remained active into old age, so from 2015 to 2017 he took on the leading role of grandfather Toni in the series Red Ribbon Club. Most recently, in December 2022, he shot the Cologne WDR program directed by Nina Wolfrumcrime scene “The Last of Others,” which is still airing. “We mourn the loss of a great actor and a warm-hearted person who was interested and committed into old age,” said the managing director of the agency 60plus, Ulrike Boldt, the German press agency. “14 days ago I visited Dieter and his wife in Wiesbaden and was fascinated by his esprit, his curiosity and his humor.”
