Why does everything that can only go wrong in Berlin turn out great in Vienna? It starts with the food and goes with you literature further. In Austria everything is more radical and sophisticated. “Cooking in the wrong century”, for example, the new novel by Teresa Präauer, the Austrian author and artist who has been extremely productive for the past decade. In it she describes the rather uneventful course of a rather middle-class dinner. What would certainly have been a Berlin novel in Berlin is an astonishingly entertaining and subtle story in Präauer’s work.
