The advantage of this chamber play on the Dresden workshop stage “Semper Zwei” is also its risk: in this medium-sized room you are very close to the events of Aribert Reimann’s “Ghost Sonata”, to the – perhaps a little too loud – acting singers, at and almost behind the spartan, but effectively draped, moving backdrops. So you hardly have a chance to watch the whole thing from a self-chosen distance, you are immediately adopted by this strange family from Stockholm, who reenact the big social problems in a small circle and of course get hopelessly involved in them. There is the morally degenerate old entrepreneur director Hummel (Andrew Nolen), the unfit student (Michael Pflumm), the naive daughter (Jennifer Riedel), the colonel (Jürgen Müller), the ghost of the milkmaid, which only the clairvoyant student can see can.
