Munich Kammerspiele in crisis: “I don’t go there anymore” – culture

From

Christine Dossel

Things are not going well at the Munich Kammerspiele. If you haven’t experienced it yourself in half-empty performances, the sparrows will whistle from the roofs. Or you can get it from the managing director Oliver Beckmann in figures – with the addition “It hurts my soul”: 55 percent occupancy in the period from October 2022 to the end of February. This is miserable. (For comparison: Munich Volkstheater in January 96 percent; Berlin Schaubühne 97.53 percent).
