The club is in the relegation zone after the punishment.
The Toffees have received an immediate 10-point deduction after being guilty of having breached the league’s profit and sustainability rules.
This is the biggest point deduction in the Premier League’s history and leaves the club in the 19th place in the standings with 4 points.

Everton announced they are “shocked and disappointed” by the “wholly disproportionate and unjust” sanction. The Premier League side also admitted that they will appeal the sanction.
The league refereed the Toffees to an independent commission during the spring but did not share the specifics of the side’s alleged breach.
Sean Dyche’s team posted financial losses for the 5th year in a row in March after reporting a more than 50 million dollar deficit in 2021-22.
However, after a 5-day hearing last month, the commission found in favor of the Premier League that the Toffees losses during that period amounted to over 150 million dollars.
In the league’s history, only 2 other sides have been given a points deduction – Middlesbrough and Portsmouth.
